Telegram Mini-App Breaks Records: Hamster Kombat Hits 240M Users in 90 Days
Telegram’s Hamster Kombat Mini-App Attracts Approximately 240M Users and Token Launch Hype.
Key Takeaways:
- Hamster Kombat on Telegram has rapidly gained almost 240 million users in just 3 months.
- Notcoin (NOT) success on crypto exchanges has attracted other projects to Telegram's 900-million-strong active user base.
- Pavel Durov, Telegram's founder, sees Hamster Kombat as a potential attraction for millions of people to Web3.
The rise in popularity of mini-apps on Telegram has led to the emergence of a user-friendly model for earning crypto known as “tap-to-earn.” Users can claim crypto tokens by simply tapping a specific icon on Telegram or participating in gameplay.
After the successful listing of the pioneering tap-to-earn project, Notcoin (NOT), on leading crypto exchanges and its market cap reaching over $2.5 billion, the Telegram platform is now experiencing an influx of multiple projects seeking to leverage its 900-million-strong active monthly users.
One of the current projects causing a stir in the Web3 world is Hamster Kombat, a viral Telegram bot that enables users to act as the CEO of their virtual crypto exchange. Participants can earn Hamster Kombat coins (HMSTR) by completing quests, inviting friends, mining, and completing various tasks the bot suggests.
Meanwhile, it's worth noting that the developers of Hamster Kombat describe the game as a “crypto exchange CEO simulator” rather than a “clicker” or “tapper” game.
Hamster Kombat Experiences Impressive Growth and Popularity
The project's growth became more interesting after it gained unprecedented popularity, a large user base, and a significant social media following.
As Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram, points out, Hamster Kombat's viral growth and its upcoming token launch on the TON blockchain have the potential to attract hundreds of millions of people to Web3.
Durov, in a public post to his personal Telegram channel's 2.76 million subscribers, emphasized the rapid success of the viral Telegram game, describing it as the latest Internet sensation everyone is discussing.
Since its launch in March 2024, the game has attracted over 239 million players. It has also become the largest Telegram channel in the world with 49.5 million subscribers, while Tapswap and Blum, other Telegram clicker games, follow behind with 25.2 million and 15.2 million subscribers, respectively, as per TGStat data.
The executive also highlighted some revolutionary statistics that demonstrate the phenomenal success of the recently released clicker game. He mentioned it took Hamster Kombat just 73 days to reach 100 million monthly users. Pavel Durov said,
“Each day, 4-5 million new users join Hamster Kombat, making it the fastest-growing digital service in the world.”
HMSTR Gears Up for Exchange Listings
Even though the exact date for when Hamster Kombat will be listed has not been publicly revealed, Durov emphasized the significance of the highly anticipated token airdrop of Hamster Kombat, as millions of people across the globe are eagerly awaiting the eventual distribution of the HMSTR token.
The token is expected to be available on major global crypto exchanges such as Binance, Bybit, and KuCoin. This is because Hamster Kombat has gained more popularity and support compared to Notcoin, which attracted 35 million active users and brought on board several million users to Web3.
Whether Hamster Kombat will also be listed on an exchange like the vetting-intensive Binance will be confirmed in due course.
In the meantime, the official roadmap on the project's website indicates that developing on-chain infrastructure and integrating an in-game wallet was finished in June. The TGE and token in-game utility launch are scheduled for July.
As noted by the Telegram founder, the team at Hamster will soon create its token on the TON blockchain, introducing hundreds of millions of people to the advantages of blockchain.
“A new era is arriving, and we are witnessing its arrival in real-time,” Durov concluded.
