TABLE OF CONTENTS
Bottom line:
After performing extensive testing for our BTCC review, we determined that the exchange is a strong choice for derivatives traders. It has up to 225x leverage on BTC/USDT, ETH/USDT, DOGE/USDT, and XRP/USDT perpetual futures. Although the lack of a spot market will turn away some investors, BTCC's low fees and high leverage make it appealing to traders worldwide.

- Copy trading – BTCC's copy trading system allows beginners to experience trading without much knowledge and allows experienced users to earn additional income.

Our Take on BTCC's Features
To ensure our BTCC review is comprehensive, we'll explore a few of the platform's top features.
Copy Trading
An intriguing feature BTCC offers is copy trading, which allows users to mirror experienced traders known as “leaders” automatically. Knowledgeable traders can also register as leaders to earn up to 15% of the profits generated by other users (follows), providing consistent, recurring income.
The BTCC copy trading platform is surprisingly active, with 26 pages of Lead Traders available for followers to copy. As such, finding someone using a strategy that matches your intent and risk tolerance is easy. Moreover, BTCC provides data like win rate, asset preference, number of trades, assets under management, and cumulative profits to help users choose a Leader.
While the BTCC copy trading platform isn't as active as alternatives like the one we discussed in our eToro review, it still has a good quantity of Lead Traders. However, most seem to have few followers, indicating the platform could afford more value to novice traders looking to learn than experienced traders seeking to boost their profits.
Tokenized Assets
Despite not being a typical broker, BTCC lets users invest in tokenized versions of stocks and commodities, providing access to traditional financial markets and cryptocurrency.
The exchange lets users trade 15 popular stocks, including Intel, Microsoft, Apple, and Amazon, with up to 20x leverage. Additionally, users can trade two commodities, gold and silver, with up to 150x leverage. Unfortunately, BTCC doesn't provide exposure to the underlying assets, so the system is tailored toward active trading instead of investing.
Demo Trading
Another feature that is perfect for those looking to improve their trading performance without sacrificing capital is BTCC's demo trading system. All customers receive a $100,000 demo account, which users can trade against live asset prices. As the demo account follows the real market, people can use virtual funds to attain skills transferable to trading with live funds.
Free Crypto Conversions
Swapping one crypto asset for another can sometimes result in significant fees. However, BTCC has implemented a crypto conversion system to alleviate these issues. The system lets users swap 100+ assets for USDT free of charge as long as they are already in their BTCC wallet.
We found the system efficient and easy to understand. While all critical information is already displayed clearly, BTCC lets users preview the transaction to view your quote and any fees for the transaction. The system will also automatically cancel any transaction if the price fluctuates by over 3%, preventing unwanted spending.
Creating and Verifying a BTCC Account
It's easy to create a BTCC account. The exchange only requires new users to provide an email address and password, or users can register via Google, Facebook, Apple, or MetaMask. However, if you want to deposit crypto or fiat, you'll need to verify your identity with a photo ID. Users seeking increased limits can also complete facial verification by providing a live selfie.
Deposit/Withdrawal Methods
Depositing and withdrawing on BTCC is simple. The exchange lets users deposit any of its supported crypto assets as well as fiat via a bank card. Withdrawals are limited to cryptocurrencies, so those looking to trade and withdraw fiat to a bank account will need to use a different exchange, like Kraken.
Supported Cryptocurrencies
Traders on BTCC will be happy to learn that although spot purchases are unavailable, the exchange offers a reasonable array of 107 tradable derivatives markets in addition to the company's tokenized stocks and commodities. BTCC offers a competitive array of markets despite falling short of market leaders like Binacne (332) or OKX (237).
Trading Fees
For any trader, fees are a crucial consideration. Thankfully, BTCC boasts competitive derivatives trading fees and discounts for VIP customers (although the first eight VIP ranks yield no fee discount). For the average user, fees begin at 0.045% (taker) and 0.025% (maker). Additionally, BTCC charges a variable fee on withdrawals that differs based on the asset.
VIP Tier | Account Estimated Total Value | Derivatives Trading Fees (Maker/Taker) |
VIP0 (Base User) | $0 | 0.025% / 0.045% |
SVIP1 | $50,000 | 0.01% / 0.035% |
SVIP2 | $500,000 | 0.007% / 0.03% |
SVIP3 | $1 Million | 0.005% / 0.025% |
SVIP4 | $2 Million | 0.003% / 0.02% |
SVIP5 | $3 Million | 0% / 0.01% |
BTCC Fees Compared
BTCC is priced very competitively compared to other popular exchanges offering derivatives trading. However, maker orders are slightly more expensive compared to alternative crypto exchanges we've reviewed.
Exchange Name | Trading Derivatives Fees (Maker/Taker) |
Binance | 0.02% / 0.04% |
BTCC | 0.025% / 0.045% |
Bybit | 0.02% / 0.055% |
Bitget | 0.02% / 0.06% |
Ease of Use
It's essential to consider the user experience before registering for an exchange. BTCC will feel familiar to anyone who has previously used a typical crypto exchange. Critical features are located on the top menu bar, making it easy to navigate to sections like the trading interface or the deposit screen.
Trading on BTCC is streamlined and straightforward. TradingView has been integrated into the exchange, giving users access to an extensive suite of drawing/analysis tools and technical indicators. Furthermore, unlike some other TradingView-integrated exchanges we've looked at, BTCC offers multi-screen charting, enabling users to find promising opportunities quickly.
Outside the platform's capable charting system, BTCC displays data like an asset's 24-hour price change, 24-hour low/high, and daily volume. However, the exchange suffers from a limited range of order types. BTCC offers only market, limit, stop-loss, and take-profit, which could make entering a trade when specific conditions are met much more challenging.
BTCC is a well-designed trading platform that is easy to use and accessible to the vast majority. While the limited available order types might be problematic for power users, BTCC remains a strong choice for traders with little to intermediate experience or those who do not require advanced order types.
Mobile App
The BTCC mobile app is available on Android and iOS devices. It's rated 4.5/5 based on over 5,500 reviews. Most users agree the app is well-designed and easy to navigate, but some express concern regarding fees and repeated crashes when accessing certain features.
We tested the mobile app and were happy to see that most features present online are available, including futures trading and asset management. However, while testing for our BTCC review, we noticed the app doesn't have TradingView integration, instead boating a simple line chart that lacks many analytical tools.
While suitable for trading and managing your assets, the BTCC mobile app is unsuitable for performing detailed analysis, meaning traders will need an external charting app. It's also worth noting that the BTCC mobile app is unavailable in the UK, so traders from that region seeking a mobile-friendly exchange will need to find another UK crypto exchange.
Security Measures
To ensure its customers' safety, BTCC has implemented several security measures designed to dissuade attacks from targeting the exchange. BTCC utilizes segregated 1:1 storage of user funds, meaning there should never be issues with withdrawals or a bank run. Additionally, the company adheres to anti-money laundering regulations, which adds to BTCC's safety.
Additionally, BTCC has introduced account-level security measures, like locking accounts after five incorrect sign-in attempts, Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), and SSL encryption. Our research shows BTCC has remained secure and has not been hacked despite operating since 2011.
Customer Support
To assist its customers who are having issues, BTCC has created a blog containing a wide range of articles covering common topics and queries. Furthermore, users can speak to the chatbot and get information relevant to their problem.
Users can talk to an advisor via live chat for less common issues. Our agent was very polite during our testing, and we received a response within 60 seconds, far quicker than even market-leading exchanges.
